The Return of Jezebel James

Gossip Communications News posted sides from The Return of Jezebel James. These are bits of the script used for readings or shooting. Anyhow, I read them and was quite impressed. If the actual aired pilot lives up to what’s on the page, it could be quite good. Unfortunately, the sides only comprise part of the episode. But the good news is that I really wanted to read more.

Here’s what I can tell you so far about Amy Sherman-Palladino’s new project:

• It reads like a cross between Gilmore Girls and Roseanne. No surprise there.
• The characters are great. No— Scratch that. They’re wonderful. But they’re nothing like any of the characters in Gilmore Girls or Roseanne.
• The dialogue moves fast fast fast!
• Witty! And dramatic! And funny! Again, no surprise there.
• I was rolling on the floor laughing, just reading the script.
• I am so anxious to see this show. I can’t wait.
• Amy Sherman-Palladino is a genius.
• If Fox screws this up, I may never forgive them.
