A new interview with Lauren Ambrose was posted on MeeVee today.
Thanks, Lauren, for doing these. I know you’re probably like me; don’t enjoy basking in the limelight.

A quick note: The A.V. Club has a new interview with Parker Posey.

… T minus 6 days, and counting…
The Return of Jezebel James premiers Friday, March 14.

There’s an excellent interview with Parker Posey in the Sioux City Journal Online.
I loved this part:
Posey sees the series as another “girl-centric” show that’s not about celebrity. “The writing comes from a really good place. I loved watching ’The Gilmore Girls.’ I thought it was amazing. (In one episode) they were watching Joseph Campbell DVDs during spring break. That was so me. It made me love Amy so much more.”
Loved that, because I’m a died-in-the-wool Gilmore Girls fan. I remember that GG episode. It’s from season 4, and it’s called, “Girls in Bikinis, Boys Doin’ the Twist.” Rory and Paris, in Ft. Lauderdale for spring break, spent a night watching Bill Moyers in Joseph Campbell and The Power of Myth on VHS. (I don’t know why they were watching it on VHS, but they clearly were.) A classic must-see for storytellers in any media, by the way.
Sigh. I am so looking forward to watching Amy’s work again on my TV screen!

This article talking about Amy Sherman-Palladino, from Gilmore Girls and now into Jezebel James—and how the latter got to be filmed in New York… This article is deep, engaging, and witty as all get out. (Reminds me a bit of Amy’s work.)
Here’s a snippet:
During a fire drill, she recalled, [Amy’s] mannequin was mistaken for a living, breathing person by crew members and firefighters who gathered on the street. But no one dashed into the building to rescue her.
“They naturally thought it was you,” Mr. Palladino said.

I’ve been waiting for this independent film, starring Lauren Ambrose, Frank Langella, and Lili Taylor, about a grad student who reinvigorates the hopes and dreams of an old novelist.
The movie premiered at January’s Sundance Film Festival, where critics liked it. It’s based on the 1999 novel by Brian Morton, the story of a New York novelist, Leonard Schiller (Frank Langella). His books were once acclaimed, but now are out of print. He is close to his daughter Ariel (Lili Taylor), but otherwise keeps to himself in a structured, joyless existence… until grad student Heather Wolfe (Lauren Ambrose) decides to write her Master’s thesis on him and his work. In the process, she grows close to him, challenging him to accept that he’s “using his age to mask a deeper conflict.” Then she starts trudging through his life’s scars, including that of his long-deceased wife.
The film is coming to theaters—finally!—starting Friday, November 23.

Lifetime TV has on their website an interview with “Parker Posey: The Unpredictable Indie Queen”:
This fall, the actress will have her first starring role in a TV series… in which she plays a children’s book editor who asks her sister to be a surrogate mother for her.
Posey also stars in the movie “Broken English,” in which she plays an unhappily single New Yorker who falls for a younger Frenchman. The 38-year-old actress knows what it’s like to date a younger man, because for two years she was in a relationship with musician Ryan Adams, who is six years younger than Posey. (The couple broke up in 2005.)
The actress chatted candidly with us about her new movie and much more.
